carathiloAtado a la Nada - Tied to Nothing
Explanation of the song

Just as it is common today, there was once a young athesist, but he did something that isn´t so common. Finding himself drowing in the midst of an emptiness that is born from the superficiality of looking only for oneself, Charles de Foulcard, this young man of which we speak of, lifted up to God a plea that changed his life, “God, if you exist, let me know you.” Sincere before God, he recognised his lack of hope before such a thought, but he didn´t hold back.
Going against himself, his past and his passions, knowing that the answer of God would demand from him a change of life, he searched for God. He knew well how to measure the value of what he was to loose: nothing, and what he was to gain: everything. God, who is never out done in generosity, responded to the sincerity and humbleness of foucould with his presence and his grace, filling his heart with goods that are unthinkable to those who do not yet know Him.
Years later, looking upon how much he had gained, Charles would remember it with these words “Since i persuaded myself that God existed i couldn´t live but for Him alone”.
It was worth suffering, and God didn´t spare him the cross, just as He didn´t spare it from Himself in the redemption: Foucould had to show himself faithful to such a grace – that of knowing the truth of man and his vocation to an eternity in the presence of God. He recognised sin as the source of his anterior emptiness. And he had the need to cleanse his soul from his past life, he dragged along in his anterior all his past, but he still resisted the confession, he didn´t understand the plan of God, which so many times overwhelmes us. But God in his providence moved him interiorly to draw close to a priest without even realising it, when the priest saw him he said nothing more than the following “kneel down and confess yourself”. Charles cried (or wept) repentful of his past life, and today is an example of the way we should act before the truth and the uncertainty of the eternal, before the mercy of God, before the one who loves the humble and sincere who recognise themselves in need of Him

Tied to Nothing

I want to find that Truth
which makes man more than
the rest of animals.

I want to speak until I am satisfied,
Until I am tired of my voice,
If I can find it with words.

I don’t want to give up,
I don’t want to ever stop
Fighting for the response.
They have tied us to nothing
like shadows that pass away
Like madmen on a stage...
but at the same time we have a voice to sing:
-God, if you exist, let me know you.

It is not easy to reach the Truth,
but even if we make mistakes
in problems of height and distance,
Only one thought of ours is wroth more
than the entire universe.

I don’t want to give up..

Atado a la nada
Quiero hallar esa verdad
