Elizabeth experienced suffering from an early age, beginning with family difficulties, her mother's illness, and a lung collapse in high school. She admired her mother's faith but realized that that it wasn't her own. That all changed when she went on a retreat her freshmen year of high school. From that moment on, her life began to change.
